COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., and Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn., will host the 10 teams competing in the 2009 IIHF World Under-18 Championship for a pre-tournament camp to be held April 2-7, it was announced today by USA Hockey.
The 2009 IIHF World Under-18 Championship will take place on U.S. soil for the first time April 9-19 in Fargo, N.D., and Moorhead, Minn.
In addition to the United States, the pre-tournament camp will include Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.
Each team will compete in at least one pre-tournament game while at the camp. The Schwan Super Rink will host three games, while Ridder Arena will be the site for six contests. Each of the teams at the camp will also conduct practices throughout the week during the day.
Tickets for the pre-tournament games will be sold at the door. Adult tickets are $7 each, while youth tickets cost $5.
NOTES: The 2009 IIHF World Under-18 Championship will take place at the newly constructed Urban Plains Center in Fargo and the recently renovated Moorhead Sports Center in Moorhead … Tickets for the 2009 IIHF World Under-18 Championship are still available.
