The Muttontown Club is pleased to announce that Troon Golf has named the member-owned golf and country club the “Most Improved Facility of the Year” among the company’s entire world-wide portfolio of managed golf properties.
The coveted award was presented during the annual Troon Golf Leadership Conference this past January in Scottsdale, Ariz. The honor is given only to properties that have demonstrated a true “success story” and Muttontown saw unprecedented improvements in 2010 that set it a part from all other properties that Troon Golf manages.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the experience that is currently offered to members at The Muttontown Club,” stated Jim McLaughlin, senior vice president, Troon Privé. “The club continues to build on its outstanding reputation, making huge advancements inoffering pristine course conditions and an unparalleled food & beverage experience.”
The Muttontown Club was recognized as the “Most Improved Facility of the Year” for its recent success in extraordinarily increasing its overall member experience. Highlights of the club’s achievements, confirmed by overwhelmingly positive member surveys, include improved course conditions, increased service levels, and an elevated food & beverage experience.
The club was also one of just a few properties to receive a Troon Golf “Rock Star” award. Finalists for “Rock Star” awards are determined by evaluation surveys that reveal Troon Golf’s top performing facilities. The Muttontown Club earned the award for receiving the highest marks in Member Satisfaction scores.
“Since hiring the Troon Golf management team in early 2010, our membership has seen dramatic increases in service, quality and value,” stated Mitchell Mandel, Muttontown's president. “Our management team has taken our extraordinary facility to a new level of excellence.”
Members at Muttontown have also enjoyed new benefits since Troon Golf took over management in April 2010. This includes the Troon Privé Privilege program that extends special playing privileges to golf members, allowing them to play other private Troon Privé clubs at the host club’s cart-fee rate. Members can also participate in the Troon Advantage program that provides exclusive access for members at Troon Golf-managed daily-fee and resort facilities at discounted rates.
The future looks just as bright as the past year at The Muttontown Club with the installation of new technology, increased service standards and active member programming. These improvements will certainly be utilized as the club moves toward a year-round schedule, a unique offering compared to other private facilities in Long Island that will increase the overall value of a membership.
