Cycling: Meet Heidi Beierle - Adventures & Research on the TransAm Heidi Beierle traveled across the country on the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail last year documenting her master's thesis on bicycle tourism.
Route System. The U.S. Bicycle Route System offers a vision of sustainable transportation. As a network it answers the question, “How do I travel from here to there if I don’t want to drive or fly?” The U.S. Bicycle Route System allows people to make journeys by bicycle of a length appropriate to their needs, without potentially extensive travel to access or exit the route system.
I contacted Adventure Cycling with my research idea to conduct historic roadway tourism research along Adventure Cycling routes. The idea, even in its infancy, aligned with planned Adventure Cycling projects, and we began a conversation about pairing our efforts.
What’s you next grand bike adventure?
To be determined. I’m planning to ride Cycle Oregon this September, but at the moment I haven’t hatched a new grand biking adventure. I’m open to opportunity.
