At the request of General Manager Dave Gascon, Chairman of the Board Jeff Utz and National Team Coach Julio Sainz traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the Women's Team Handball World Championships and a series of meetings with the Pan American Team Handball Federation (PATHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF).
"The trip was absolutely essential in reestablishing a sound relationship with our colleagues at the PATHF as well as at the IHF," Gascon said. "With Utz exhibiting a new commitment toward partnership from the Board of Directors, and Sainz demonstrating an interest in working with South Americans of both genders, we have turned the chapter in our international relations."
USATH received a variety of invitations from national team involvement and team visits to individual participation in programs from various countries. Additionally, the IHF also displayed a serious interest in working with USATH and its current Grassroots programs, requesting an opportunity to meet with USATH and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).
During the meetings, PATHF also provided a rough of their proposed competition schedule for 2012 (see below). The exact dates for competition as well as additional information will be released in the near future.
